Hi, welcome! I would have to agree, it may be time for a new rheumy. The only suggestions I have for your stomach issues is to always make sure you take your meds with food maybe even try a med to cost/protect your stomach like prilosec, etc as we all know lupus meds can be rough on us. Also you may need to see a Gastro doctor for your stomach issues. Take care and please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Hi oceans, welcome to the group. I'm sorry I know how pain can just make life unbarable. It's nt unusual to go through several drs to find one that you can work with. You two have to be a team. If they aren't helping you need to keep serching. Do you have any other drs. besides your rheumy? I would think they would have sent you to someone for your tummy. Don't you hate it when you can't eat and you still don't lose weight? That sounds like something that would happen to me.
There are some aches an pains that you have to live with but there are also a lot of alterntives out there to give you some releif and if you aren't getting it han you need to find someone that will help.
let us know and if you change drs let us know when your appt is. We are good at encouraging people around here.

Hi Ocean and welcome,
I have seen many people recover from strokes. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy will get you through it. Some insurances will cover an intense 8 week session of therapy with like 8 hours a day treatment. As for your pain and GI issues I am sorry. And it sucks to hear but maybe you might get better management with a pain specialist and seeing a GI doc (as though I am sure you want to add another doctor to your list!) There are lots of people who work with SLE and similar illness. It depends on the severity and your support systems. I am sure there are people who work who really cant but have too!
Good luck
