Hi guys,
I would be really grateful if anyone can help me here. I've been going to the doctors intermittently for the last year and a half since I suffered from PTSD after being assaulted.
I've had problems with alopaecia on my scalp and there seems to be little that I can do about it except use diproderm which stops the swelling and scarring. It is almost always triggered when I am experiencing a stressful time in my work and the outbreak seems to last for about five days before the scarring fades and my hair begins to grow back.
I've been to four doctors in my country and three have said they believe it's only traction alopaecia. The last doctor I went to visit seemed to think it might be Lupus but informed me that there was nothing that she could give me and, as I agreed, immunosuppressents wouldn't be a good idea.
I am quite healthy and only have a few problems with Ibs but I have had many blood tests, scans and doctor and hospital visits only to be told that they could find nothing. Is Lupus a possibility?

You generally have to have 4 of 11 signs of lupus before being diagnosed. You can follow the link in my signature to check those out.

However, if 4 doctors have done multiple tests and the scalp problem is all they find, you probably do not have lupus.

Thanks for your message and the link you posted.
I guess that it may just be hypochondria and I'm probably worrying about nothing.
