Good Evening
I am Jill.  40 yr old wife, mom, registered nurse.  I was "oficially" Dx with Lupus on Monday.  I have been lurking here for a few months because I pretty much diagnosed myself...hehe.  I have Psoriatic Arthritis and have been on Remicade since August.  My Rheum is optimistic that my Lupus is induced by Remicade and will subside in a couple of months.  He did warn that it may not go away.  It is just a wait and see deal now.   I have been out of work for a few weeks with all the horrible aches, pains, exhaustion, fever etc.....  Have also dealt with some quacky doctors.    I finally found a competent Rheum on round 3.  Very frustrating.  Especially when you are sick.
Basically dealing with alot of what you all deal with .  This forum has helped me so much with gathering information.  I am grateful to everyone that has shared their story.

Isn't it frustrating to know what you have and yet you can't find a doctor who will take you seriously? It took me three rheumys as well.

I do hope yours subsides. And by the way, you don't have to have lupus to post here. I was posting before I had a diagnosis & lots of others do too. That's when I needed this forum the most.

I'm glad you're here. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Jill:

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I too hope that your lupus is temporary. I'm kinda worried I've got both lupus and RA and my doctor wants me to start on Remicade in June. I sure hope it doesn't make my lupus worse. There are many great people here and we're happy to answer questions at anytime. Please take care and welcome to our family.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome.

My meds for Lupus are Prednisone 10mg and Plaquenil 400mg. Last dose of Remicade was 3/31/09. I am also on MTX 15mg for last 8 months.

Barbara , please do alot of research on Remicade. I think the side effects go grossly unreported. It can be a miracle drug for some and a nightmare for others....ugh!
