Hi, sometimes the tube to the ear gets inflamed and swells and really hurts. I get these mini ear infections all the time. I guess its all connected with the sinuses and all. If you think its "Swimmer's ear" from getting water in your ear, many preparations over the counter work--most made of viniger and water. You could probably find a recipe on the web. I use this after showers sometimes because I can be prone to it. Then dying my hair can irritate it. Finally, plain old mild sinusitis and allergies can make it swell. It can hurt alot. My ENT (ear nose and throat doc) tells me to take an over the counter antihistamine recommended by my pharmacist to
open up the tube so it drains and doesn't turn into a full blown infection.
When I get sore throats, I often get this. Because of my diabetes and other meds and all, my doc recommends tylenol cold cool blue stuff, which soothes my throat. But you need to check with your doc and pharmacist. Usually a dose of decongestant will
open the eustacian tube for me and it will drain and be fine.
I also use flonase at the first sign of problems to try to avoid it happening and getting worse and brush alot alot when when I have problems. I hope you feel better. It can get really painful. I spent much time as a child with that pain. An ear nose and throat doc can help. I think sjogrens makes it happen, restasis gives me sinusitis (its a side effect).
I hope it goes away.
