welp, i have my first rash since my diagnosis in 07! It is on both elbows(on the sides) and starting to get on my knees. Red spots and they are starting to get bumpy but they arent itchy or painful. Since I have never had a rash problem before, what can I do to help it go away?

I was diagnosed last year, and I just broke out in a rash. I haven't had a rash before, and it is bad. Started on my legs, and now, it is on my arms, butt, and chest. Mine doesn't itch. It is very red and lacy-looking. I went to my primary care doc today, and he gave me antihistamines. They drew blood, so I won't know until next week if it is definitely from lupus. Can't stand all of this waiting. Wish I could be of more help!

I have had rashes off and on for years. They are caused by lupus/vasculitis in my case. They have taken various forms but the
vasculitis was diagnosed from large, red hive-like bumps on my butt and thighs. Rheumy sent me to a dermatologist
for a biopsy and he diagnosed vasculitis. Dermatologist suggested Dapsone which I have been on now for about 5
years. I also take methotrexate and plaquenil. I would recommend finding a good lupus-familiar dermatologist.
Sometimes the rashes itch and I take claritin 2x a day when itching is a problem. The only other thing I've found
that helps itching is ice but I only resort to that when it is bad. They don't always itch and I pretty much just have
to wait until it goes away. I can't take benedryl as it makes me crazy! And yes, rashes are annoying but after a while
you just learn to live with it. Thankfully the immunosuppresant drugs have helped to keep it under control.
