Wow. I forgot how my body was suppose to feel. More like how it felt before I got sick. I always thought i felt kinda ok before, but in the past few day since on prednisone my body feels wonderful. Hardly any pain, anywhere. I know you cant take it forever, but whats out there to take after Im done with my pack? Anything natural that would give me the same effect. I've lost alot of water weight and have had no bad side effects.
SLE Lupus, dignosed 13 years. I take Celebrex everyday, Inderal for the migrains, Plaquenil on and off ( I know thats BAD), Somo for muscle pain. Ativan for the wonderful anxiety, and ambiem as needed. And a Margharitta here an there.....

YEE HAW!!!  That is great!  Prednisone really is a wonderful medication for us.  It's too bad it has so many negative side effects with it. I've been on it for 9 years now.  It's saved my life.
If you have to take it long term, you have to take it long term! I'd rather take it forever and feel good! LOL.  Play it by ear and see how you feel once you're done your pack.
I personally don't think there's anything out there as effective as Prednisone.  It's the wonder drug for us smilewinkgrin .
Eating foods high in Omega 3, 6, 9's is an option.  Natural anti-inflammatories.  I eat a lot of salmon and take suppliments every day.  You don't get enough anti inflammatory response to equal the effectiveness of prednisone, but it can help you to take smaller doses of pred.
I'd talk to your rheumy about the options and see what else is out there. I'm so glad you're feeling better!  Like a veil has been lifted!

Sometimes I don't wonder if we all don't have Cushings or some sort of pituitary thing because the pred makes just about everyone feel so much better!!! The pred helps me so much, but they won't let me have as much as I want.

I'm glad its helping you.
Love, Marji
