met new rhuemy

I met new rhuemy last week. I've been too mad to even get on the forum since then. First of all I had to pay her 300.00 before they even took me to a room. Her first words to me was she seriuosly doubted If I even had lupus, to come off the plaquenil. She then told me if I was trying to get Il. medical card she would not help me, she only accepts Mo. medical card. She told me to go out to hospital & get my old rhuemy's labs & my dermotologists biopsy report. I am begining to feel like our medical field is just a big money scam! Oh! Yes she wanted me to come back in another 2 wks & bring her another 300.00 I DON"T THINK SO!! First of all if she wanted the labs she could of faxed out there & had them in minutes. When I went to get them they asked why I needed them & I told them for a new rhuemy ( my old one is no longer in there clinic) The womans responce to me was oh, are you seeing DR. -----? That was a red flag to me! There is other rhuemy's in this town.  She also questioned how I paid for all the test to be dx'ed with lupus! Duh! I had insurance! I lost it when me & the pig was divorced!  Then she went on to ask about my children & why my 15 yr old does not live with me! At this point I was in tears & knew I was done with her! I have not chosen lupus! I would love for my daughter to live with me but her dad buys her & I have to keep reminding myself if I was a child I would rather be where I can have what I want or do what I want.  I am not perfect, I'm sure I have made some bad choices in life & she sures the heck is not going to be my next choice!

I am so sorry this doctor was so horrible. I think I would be looking into a doctor who is recommended by other lupus patients and who might be willing to work something out on payments.

Tx: plaquenil, Enbrel, Tramadol, Singulair, Skelaxin, Baby Asprin, Imuran, Prilosec, lasix, Evoxac, Celebrex, Darvocet when things get too bad, prednisone again, various vitamin/mineral supplements, cozar
