While I've seen no specific "Do not drink with lupus" warnings, it's fairly well known that drinking lowers your immune system, making you more susceptible to illness. Since our doctors are carefully mapping our symptoms vs. their prescript
ions, and since some of our meds are designed specifically to manage the immune system, it seems pretty clear to me that the recommendation is "DO NOT DRINK". (Or don't drink very much at all
If you do decide to drink, please make sure to let your drs know about
it -- they need to know about
what's going into your system to make the best diagnosis/treatment plan for you. This also applies to changes in food habits, vitamins, supplements, etc.
