I recently wrote about being put on Lyrica for fibro and how much it helped me. I spent a week feeling more normal than I have since I was diagnosed 5 years ago. The holiday wore me out and I admit that I overdid it. Friday I started hurting all over but pushed myself to get the house decorated for Christmas. After the 7th of Dec I won't be able to do much because of my foot surgery. By yesterday I was in bed, barely able to get around. My joints and muscles feel like they are on fire. Yesterday I took 5 lortabs, more than I ever have in a day, and I was still running a low grade temp and hurting like heck.

It doesn't feel like a virus. This has happened before, but never to this extent, and I was hoping that the positive effects of the Lyrica would continue to help me.

Any ideas? I see my rheumy later this week but want input from you guys, especially if you've been through this before. It's a first for me

you over did it, now you are paying for it would be my guess. take it easy and tell your rheumy everything you did and what has happened as a result.

Hi Pat,
I hope you are feeling a little better today. Maybe this is just a case of over doing it. Keep resting and build your strength for the upcoming surgery. When your up to it, let us know how your doing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love, Babs

Battling low grade fever, joint pain, and muscle aches and pains. Have doubled up on Lyrica and hope he'll increase dosage. I take it twice a day. I'm also down to 1 mg prednisone but yesterday took an extra mg to see if it would help and it did. That tells me that lupus is acting up too. I sure hope this new rheumy can deliver.

I go along doing fine for a while then get so exhausted and have so much pain that I get absolutely emotionally worn out. I know that all of you do too.

My December is going to be good because since my foot surgery is on Monday, no one will expect me to lift a finger. I'll have my cast on till after Christmas, according to the surgeon. And it won't be weight bearing for 6 to 8 weeks. So I have lined out a bunch of knitting projects, have a tv in the bedroom and am going to move my coffee pot in here as well. All I'll need are bon bons for 2 months. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

Let's rally around and help each other have a good holiday season. Even if it's not what we dream of, we can find ways to give thanks and remember the spirit of Christmas.

hi patty :) i have found that, even on lyrica, if i overdo it, i will pay dearly for it . . . and unfortunately, i overdo it on a regular basis. i usually manage to push through, but i do have days where i feel so flattened i am lucky to be able to move from the bed to the couch & back and wind up sleeping for a couple days pretty much straight.

for me, the lyrica has worked wonders with the pain that i have, but unfortunately lupus tends to rule supreme and mandate what you can or cannot do on a daily basis . . . try to take it easy, pamper yourself :) hope you feel better soon!

(((( Pat ))))) I am glad the increase in pred helped, at least that told you your lupus is acting up. It looks like this foot surgery is a blessing in disguise and you will be able to get some much needed rest. Hang in there sis, take good care of yourself! You are in my prayers
