Stacie, the others are so right to caution you, bronchitis can be very serious.....the worst case I ever had took me 7 months and 3 different kinds of antibiotics to get rid of. And bronchitis can easily turn into pneumonia in someone with a weakened immune system and/or bad lungs.

Please rest, take time off work, make sure that you can kick this!!

Yeah I'm only a nag today. I'm improving ! Make sure they give you another xray before they kick ya lose. You have all the symptoms that you get just before your bronchitis turns to pnemonia. I think that z pak last for 5 days and then works for 5 days after that.

well i hate to bring this up but my feet and legs look like CHF is on it's way and my doctor is gone until monday. confused I am so sick of hospitals I could puke! So I'm gonna put my feet up and see if it helps b4 I do anything else. shakehead I know I know so don't nag! If the little tiny spots start leeking I'll go in. CRAP!mad

love youguys

Carol, how are you doing today? I pray you are well and that you didn't have to go to the hospital.

I am going to try to go to work tomorrow. I've done more today, (which wasn't too much) than I have all weekend and did ok. I did take a nap and I noticed my chest and back hurt when I talked a lot, hubby thought I was mad at him confused and of course what do I spend a majority of my day at work??? Answering the phone and talking to clients, so we will see.

Thanks again everyone for your hugs, prayers and support.

((Stacie))),
Bless your heart! I Hope you are feeling a little better by now. Sorry I haven't replied before now. I keep Bronchitis all the time due to smoking because "stupid me", refuses to give up the habit. I'm glad you stopped smoking years ago.

Keep us updated and rest as much as you can. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Love ya, Babs

Thank you Babs, I have had to take pain pills (mon & tues) after I got home from work just to help with the rib / chest pain. I've never had pain like this, it wraps from front to back. I am off today and haven't done much but getting ready to run some errands and if it starts hurting again I'm calling my rheumy.

Hi Stacie:

I'm so sorry you're having so much pain. I'm praying that it eases soon for you and that you're feeling better really soon. You hang in there, we're all pulling for you.

Hugs,

Stacie, so sorry to hear about you being sick. Glad they are treating it, but do be careful as the bronchitis can turn into serious quickly. I agree with Okie that the hot tea is good. I tried decaf green tea so because of the antioxidents. You might try sleeping in a recliner (at least for a nap) I found that helped me back in December.

You are in my prayers!

Stacie I'm sorry that you're in so much pain....oddly enough, I'm going through something similar right now. My RUQ pain has moved up into the right side of my rib cage and I'm having sharp pains when I breathe. This can be a sign of pleurisy.....I've had it before. I'm going to call my PCP or go to Urgent Care if it continues.

I'm glad that you plan to call your rheumy if you have any more pain!

Sending prayers and ((((((hugs)))))),

Stacie, I hope you are feeling better. I am sorry you are having so much pain, maybe you are pushing yourself too much. Broncitis is bad news and pnemonia is even worse.

Thank you Barb, WYO, JoAnn, Redrose & Babs,

I never heard from my rheumy so I called my PCP office and the nurse told me to get in there right away. I saw the same doc as last week (in their urgent care), he said it's pleurisy, since my lungs sound good. He has put me on Pred for 10 days. I never thought it could be lupus related, that just proves it can sneak in anytime and hit any part of our body, just when I think I can recognize a flare, it slips in!

I am hopeful the Pred will start working quickly. Thanks again for all your prayers and support!

Aww Stacie, I'm sorry to hear that. You're right about it sneaking up anytime it wants. Good for you for having gone to the doc to check it out. I hope the prednisone works real quickly!

Love ya,

Oh Stacie! I have pleurisy too. In snuck in just as my swine flu was over. Please listen to your body and go back to the doc if the pred doesn't cure it. Love ya, Donna

Thank you Pat & Donna,

Doc (PCP) started me off on 20mg of pred (wanted to do 40 but doses that high gives me severe abdominal pain) and 20 worked well with the last flare. I am to taper down every 3 days for the next 9 days. Donna I hope it works for both of us, this pain is like nothing I've ever felt, leave it to lupus to spring something new on us! ((((hugs))))

Thank you Des & Carol,

The Pred is not working as fast as I thought it would. It hurt this weekend but not too bad, but then again I didn't do much either. Then it was back to work yesterday and it was killing me. I still have 6 days of taking the pred, hopefully it will kick in quick!

Carol, don't apologize, I am so glad you are home from the hospital, I need to get your phone number again so I can check in with you.
