My legs have been swollen for about 3 days. If you push on them they stay indented and feel like silly puddy. My left area above my thigh hurts so badly I have to favor it to walk. which of course causes my right leg to hurt more because from  the weight. and the tops of my feet burn like crazy when I try to stregth my feet kind of like tip toeing on my feet but not really starting on my toes. Boy when I say that it makes me wonder  how many people think I'm looney toons!rolleyes

I called the doctor she said to take 80 mi. of lasix and to stop take one of my heart meds. Usually she has me see her but this time she acts almost indifferent. I guess i willl have to see a different doctor tomorrow if she doesn't see me. All night long I thought there was a cat in my room because It sounded like a squeeling. but it was actually my lungs well Please send me prayers. I really don't want to go back in the hospital again.

love ya

Carol, I don't think that you're looney toons! It sounds like you're describing my legs when they swell up with edema....it can really be awful!

That what I sound like when I'm wheezing, either from my asthma and sometimes from bronchitis.

You're right about wanting to be seen tomorrow by a doctor...with COPD, if you have any way to get to an Urgent Care center tonight it would probably be a good thing.

Definitely praying for you tonight....keep us posted!

Oh thanks joann and Lynnwood, I have life alert if things get to bad. I really am trying to be strong but I keep getting feelings like I just don't know this time. I know this isn't the attitude to have and I'm so sorry and I just need to pull it together that's all. I know we all got more strength in us then we give us credit for I just got to pull it together.
thanks ladies you guys really help me get it together.
Huge hugs and love back at you

Carol,

Was that you who called? I thought I was talking to a cat all along! Sorry, kiddo, I couldn't help it. You sounded so much weaker today than you did yesterday and I also hope you get in to see someone tomorrow. I've seen how hard it is for you, and it's really not a joking matter.

And if you don't get in to see someone soon, you won't be queen nag anymore. You'll have us to deal with.

Hope you're feeling a bunch better.

Love ya,

Pat

Carol, I'm so very sorry that you've ended up in the hospital again, but sometimes this is a necessary thing. It doesn't mean that you're not being strong.....you're an incredible lady and an inspiration to us all! Please don't apologize for being sick!!

I'm continuing to pray for you.....and I'm praying for the doctors who treat you to do so with wisdom!

(((((((hugs)))))))

Hi All:

Carol's home health aide called me tonight to tell me that she's been admitted to the hospital yet again. Carol left her cell phone at home so I've not been able to talk with Carol. Her aide was getting her things together to give to Carol's sister in law to bring to Carol at the hospital. I'm gonna try to reach Carol tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know whats happening after I've talked with Carol.

Keep Carol in your thoughts and prayers.

Carol I hope that you have a speedy recovery my friend. I'll be calling you daily like I always do when you're in the hospital. You hang tough sweetie, we're all pulling for you.

Hugs,

Hi All:

I spoke with Carol this morning, she sounded pretty bad. She was getting a blood transfusion while we were talking. Carol was kinda bothered by the transfusion but I was able to help her with it. I've had more blood transfusion than I care to count, and I assured Carol that after she gets all her blood that she'll feel much better. Carol said that the swelling is terrible she's gained 27lbs in 2 weeks. They've got her on big doses of lasix. Other that was about all she could tell me. I'll keep you posted when I talk to her. Please keep Carol in your thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to you Carol.

((((Carol)))) I'm so sorry you're in hospital again. I hope the transfusion and lasix help. Gosh, that's an incredible amount of fluid to retain in 2 weeks. I'm praying for you sweetie. Love ya, Donna

When I spoke with Carol yesterday she sounded like her old self again. She had lost 27 pounds in 2 days. The edema makes her miserable, as you can imagine.
