Hey Everyone. I gotta make this short. Sunday at 4:40am I woke with terrible abdominal pain and vomiting. Tim called 911, they hooked me to IV and I was admitted. A CT showed a partial bowel obstruction. All I ate/drank for days was ice chips, an IV and heavy meds. The obstruction cleared. I stopped vomiting.

I'm home now taking percocet, zofran, jello and Italian ice.  shakehead   Oh well, it's good to be home and I'm improving. Love, Butterflake

shakehead  oh Donna bless your heart. I am so mad at myself that I can't seem to get around here like I did so I would have known you were in hospital. Barb is coming home tomorrow she had a transfusion through her foot today. My SIL's sister was riding a motorcycle the other day didn't make the corner and hit the side of a mountain. She broke every single bone in her face but thank God she came out of the coma and is aware enough to know who her children are. Then my dear friend in lawton ok. has a 37 year old daughter the was walking thru the house and talking to her teenage boys and dropped dead. That was Sunday. Somtimes I am afraid to come here and find out what is going to happen next.

But hey we can be greatful that you are improving. Is this the first time it's happend to you? are they thinking surgery? I'm glad you boy friend was there to help you. try to take an easy and be careful what they let you eat.

love and blessings

Oh, no! So glad you made it okay without needing surgical intervention.

A friend of mine had the same thing recently but had to have surgery, then had complications and ended up spending almost a month in the hospital. And several weeks later & she is still weak and not quite back to eating normally.

I know ice and IV don't make for a satisfying diet, but jello and Italian Ice works for me! ;)

Thanks for the well wishes Everyone. I had a scheduled visit with my rheumy yesterday which was fine. He was very sympathetic. I had my follow-up hospital release with my internist today. He took more abdominal x-rays that were normal and drew blood to insure my electrolytes are balanced. I lost 10 lbs (no surprise there) and I'm very tired. I'm eating solid food now which helps.

Carol I'm sorry about your friends. Also tell Barb I'm praying for her. Love Ya'll, Donna

Thanks Lynnwood. Yep, things are looking up. It's amazing how wiped out I feel! Lots of rest will do wonders!

I hope that you comtinue to improve. Hope that you don't have to go back into the hospital. I hate it when I have to go in. I'd must rather heal at home. So good luck with your recovery.

Thank you jdera. The ironic thing is I was scheduled to have gastric by-pass surgery Aug 30. Of course I

had to postpone. I'm back to eating the usual too much and waiting for surgery!  Love, Butterflake
