Welcome to the forum. I've been on Imuran for 10 years. From the very first day of my diagnosis. It's been a very good immune suppressant for me. I have had no weight gain issues with it at all. I had a little bit of hair loss at first, but that rectified itself. You might experience some tummy discomfort for the first 2 or 3 weeks until your body gets used to it. I took my pills with supper, so that helped a lot. It can affect your liver by increasing some of the specific enzymes. So you'll have to get your blood checked monthly to monitor that.
