Anyone have any ideas about what I can use other than shampoo?  Or does anyone know of any type of shampoo that doesn't have cocamide or any other form of coconut in it?  I have looked all over the place where I live.  I have searched online too and it seems that the best foaming agent is coconut.  I think that I would feel so much better if I could completely elementate the coconut from my life.  I had thought about using dish soap or something like that but that dries my already dried out hair way to much.  Thanks

Have you tried the type of shampoo that is used on people who are undergoing chemo therapy? I no longer have the bottle but when I was loosing my hair they gave me some shampoo that was very easy on the hair and scalp and it foamed up very little! Also have you tried baby shampoo??? I know that doesnt foam up too much!

I hadn't thought about baby shampoo. I will check it out because you are right it doesn't foam much. I will look. Also if the baby shampoo has coconut in it for some reason I will be sure to ask my dr next time about the other shampoo you mentioned thank you for the ideas.

Did you all ever figure this one out? All I did was use suave conditioner and hide my hair in a ponytail since my hair is oily until my hair got used to using conditioner. Wish I had known Redrose was interested in this one ha ha. Now I use conditioner only and only use shampoo when my hair gets too greasy looking from being oily. I don't use the Wen stuff at all. But baby shampoo does work until you feel ready for straight conditioner use.

I use baking soda to clean my hair and a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse to detangle. It takes a little while to make the transition if you want to avoid the greasies, but it's worth it! Google "no poo" for lots and lots of info. Also if you look on a website like Etsy, you will find many natural soap makers who make shampoo bars. They are wonderful as well.
