Hi all, I haven't posted in over a year, as I've been way too busy being busy, and also perhaps being in denial of my illness. I'm having some new issues that I can't ignore, however, and no matter what I do, they don't go away. I hope someone will recognize and be able to offer some advice regarding red skin rashes.
I've had these red splotchy rashes cropping up on my skin since last summer. At first, I thought it was due to the sun. But over time, they've gotten worse and worse. The dermatologist has biopsied twice. The first time they thought it might be a reaction to drugs, the second time, it was determined to be due to a lupus flare. Dermatologist says it was probably all just Lupus. I'm actually thinking she may be wrong. B/c increasing steroids doesn't help - which it always has before. The odd thing is that my blood levels were "fine" for me, according to my rheumy - again, this makes me think the derm. DR might be wrong - maybe it really is some kind of reaction to drugs.
They got really bad this fall - had puss and were scabbing over, with the skin breaking. Now, they're smoother, but are spreading out and all over my back, chest, arms, and even my neck and scalp. They are now all just red, although they do seem to be fading slowly with time. They are itchy.
