I am new here and just wanted to get me feet wet.  I have been seeing dr.s for about a year working towards a Lupus diagnosis.  I have sun sensitivity, extreme fatigue, numbness in my extremities, Raynaud's, weight loss, mental sharpness issues and a high ANA.  I could just use some encouragement.  I was doing quite well for the last several months and then the last three weeks have been rough.

I just had my lab work done and my ANA's were 1:5264.  That freaked me out...and just thought one of you could offer me a bit of perspective.

I do really well with it most days.  I Home school my children who are 7, 4 and 2.  Thankfully my 2 oldest are very helpful around the house!  I exercise every day and eat mostly whole foods.  Mostly because it makes me feel better and a raw fruits and veggies are less work:)  My husband is just the best man I know, so he takes care of me when gets home from work.  But it can be a long day until 5pm.

I have come to know God in a way that still baffles me.  He has lifted me up on days when I didn't know how I was going to get through.  I see his hand with me so strongly that I don't know how my life could have been so shallow before.

Well, that's where I am.  I am anxiously waiting for my first "Hello".  Be blessed...

Hi, I have been ill for most of my married life. we will celebrate our 20th this fall. My life sounds similar to yours... i have three children ... i didn't home school, but the way i think about my husband and God is similar.

I am very type a and like to think i have control... which God has an incredible sense of humor, and i have been reminded that i don't. I have been humbled deeply esp the last 15 years. I have several illnesses Lupus i would say is the big one.. i got sick after serving in the persian gulf war. when i first started having symptoms
i just thought must have a bug. then i thought i was going nuts.

my children are 19-18- and 16. and i am 40. most days i try to put on my full armor of God and push through, lately i am in a flare and having a rough time. this too shall pass.

Exercise is important but lupus is funny... if you feel good today...still take a rest. you need to learn how to conserve energy. I have gained weight over time with the issues i have and prendisone and other meds. but i am slowly taking it off. since you eat healthy already tht is a huge plus. the key is learning your limitations and accepting them. (I am no pro at this) I fought this the first at least 10 years. wanting to go to all games, kids stuff, be wonder mom, and wife and keep the house up. and i was brought to my knees several times. sometimes brushing my teeth = a marathon. on my good days i want to do everything. but i don't anymore. i do things in 15 min increments. and in between i rest. depending on the day some days i am productive and others ... it is embarrassing how little i accomplish.

remember "baby steps" also remember getting a diagnosis takes time .. they have to find you in a flare and then it is a matter of finding what you don't have..lol
do you have a rheumatologist and are you on any meds?

Remember God has a plan for your life. I decided mine is praying constantly because i don't know what else i am actually capable of..lol enjoy the little things ... and try not to get discouraged. if you need to rest... rest. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. proverbs 3:5
Diana May each day bring joy in your life

Thank you so much for your reply.  It was just what I needed.  I am always amazed by God's timing.  I am sorry you are not doing well at the moment.  Good job working at taking the extra weight off.  Thanks again for being an answer to my prayer.  Be blessed...I will keep you in my prayers.

I am seeing a Rheumatologist and am on Plaquenil.  I was taking Aleve (4pills a day)  and gave myself an ulcer.  When I drastically changed my diet to more whole foods, my inflamation and pain was reduced by 85%.  Now I am healing from my stomach trouble.  As you know it is one thing at a time.

You are blessed to have a supportive husband, family and to have found out early that you have Lupus enough in time to get treatment. Take good care of your family and I hope to hear that your Lupus goes into remission.
