Bad couple weeks ..and a few to come...

I get the 5-yr pneumonia shots, but have never had a flu shot in my life (I'm 52). (I also haven't had the flu in over 20 years.)

BUT, I am not out in public a lot, I am never around children or their schools and seldom even their parents. My most dangerous trip is probably the grocery store! If I lived more dangerously I would have to think much more seriously about it.

A couple of our sicker members have had the shots and then were sick for 3 wks immediately after. Others have had no issues.

If you didn't check your sugar and didn't eat ---- that'll make you feel pretty down all by itself!

I get flu shots every year because I'm a nursing student and can guarantee coming into contact with lots of bugs!! I also got a pneumonia shot this year. I never got the flu in my entire life (and never got the flu shot either) until I started taking methotrexate and other immunosuppressants. Since then, I've gotten it every year despite the shot. Oh well!

This past season I got both a flu shot and a pneumonia shot. I hadn't had the flu in 23 years, but had pneumonia three times in a year this past year.
