I am 41. My SLE was onset in 1999 and my condition is stable. I had a hysterectomy 8 weeks ago, my uterus, ovaries, and tubes were all gone in the surgery. My surgeon suggested to have Hormone Replacement Treatment. I've read a lot re SLE and HRT. What I read were scary. I'm wondering if my lupus will be recurrent with having the HRT? Is there any other alternative for treating the symptoms of menopause? Does anyone has this experience and happy to share? Thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply.

I got a severe endometriosis for many years. I had done a laparoscope twice in 2004 and 2006. At that time, my specialist suggested to remove the uterus but I refused as I thought I was very young. Before the surgery, I had been told that the possibility of the removal of the ovaries. This time, the endometriosis was much severe than before and the surgeon couldn't be able to seperate it from the uterus. At the same time, I was bleeding badly during the surgery. That's why I didn't blame the surgeon but I had depressed for a while.

I thought I could solve the problem by taking HRT, unfortunately that it might has a negative impact on SLE. I need someone who are in the similar situation sharing her experience with me. Many thanks.
