Hi all. I have been on prednisone going on a month now with the dosage going up and down as needed for symptoms. One thing I have noticed is usually with my IBS I have issues with constipation...but this time around I have had issues in the opposite direction(bloating, cramping, looser stools, urgency, etc)and am just wondering if maybe the prednisone has any affects on this? Anyone else?

Also I seem to have issues with dreams that are associated with anxiety or stresses within my life...didn't know if that could simply be due to the stress in my life at present or the prednisone too?

Thanks. -Brittanee

You probably want to ask about IBS in the IBS forum.

I haven't noticed any prednisone effects on my digestion or bowels, but I don't have IBS.

Ok thanks Lynnwood!....I have also noticed today i'm getting almost constant chills even if i'm hot and my temp was 99.2 earlier...could this be the pred as well or more likely the lupus itself?

In case your post wasn't answered on the IBS forum..I take pred for my RA and also have IBS..it does wonders for my symptoms actually! To be honest it is the *only* thing that has given me any relief with the horrible noisy stomach, *C* etc. Gas x does nothing compared to pred, hope this helps.

I have crohns not IBS, but can say that prednisone has been my saviour for 30 years. I've never had bad dreams from it but I have heard that before. Talk it over with your doctor.
