Hi Everyone, I am back on the forum since i moved to be closer to my daughter and grand daughter. I am not doing well lately. Urine has bilirubin and protein in it. So very tired and nauseated. Waiting for more blood work. Any ideas as to what you think would be helpful. confused

Protein in urine usually means kidney problems.
My mother and brother both had protein in their urine and have been diagnosed with kidney disease. My brother is on dialysis and my mother is still 30% functional.

Thank you. This is my third show of trace for the protein but my first for the bilirubin. Makes me a little unnerved.

Protein in urine is an indication of proteinuria which is usually treated with an ace inhibitor.  If you do not have significant kidney damage it is treatable with meds.  You should see a nephrologist if you are having these problems.

What is interesting is that my doc sent me a note saying my bloodwork was within the normal range. I then called her and told her what I saw. She never received the last page of bloodwork on the bilirubin. I'm learning that I must take responsibility of my disease and treatment, because mistakes can happen. I try not to become negative, because it is counterproductive, but sheesh! I'm the sick one!

I won't speak on the protein in the urine, only on the bilirubin.  How are your other liver tests?  If ok, it MAY (please see that I say may) be that the Lodine you are taking is causing a false positive bilirubin to show up in your urine.  I went through my GP, rheumy, a urologist and two Hepatologists and got no answer.  I finally found the answer on a desperate google search for false positive bilirubin urine results or something like that and it came up.  My hepatologist said 'oh yeah' rolleyes    good grief!  The reason everyone was stumped at first was because all my other liver tests were fine.  I should have asked for all my co-pays back LOL.  Just wanted to give you a posible answer, may  not be the one but it was for me, Lodine was my culprit.
