Hello all this is Barb's daughter posting today.
My mom asked me to post since she is not able to and most likely will not be for awhile.

Here's what happened:
Saturday evening she came home from her father's funeral and seemed okay just a little tired. We went to a friends graduation party and when we came home she went to bed. The following morning (Sunday) I woke up and she was making a funny semi-snoring sound. I went into look at her and it look like she couldnt snore properly because her lips were glued together. I got my father and he opened her lips and we saw that she had foam in her mouth. He tried to wake her up, shook her, lifted her arms up and down among other things to wake her up but she wouldnt wake up. We called 911 and they came and took her to a hospital nearby.

When my dad and I arrived she had been placed in the ICU and was on a ventalator with a stomach pump. Apparently while in the ambulence she tried to throw up but the vomit filled her lungs and she almost died. The doctors told us had I found her 15 minutes later she would have been dead. Once in the ICU she was stabilized but was still in danger. She had a blood infection and her entire right lung has pneumonia. For all of Sunday, Monday, and part of Tuesday she was incubated because of the ventalator. Yesterday (Tuesday) she was able to speak and be awake for the first time. She is on many medications currently to help her reach a state where she can be moved from the ICU and may be stable enough for transportation to our regular hospital.

She does not have her phone with her or a computer so she will not be able to communicate with anyone until she is either at home or in a regular ward.

Thank you Nikita for posting about your mom. I was wondering if something was going on with her. I had tried calling her a few days ago and wasn't able to get a hold of her. Tell Barb for me that i'm praying she'll get over this with no further complications. Please keep us updated on her progress and thank you once again. Love you Barb!!

Hello everyone, Thank you for all your kind words. My mom is doing better. She is in a regular ward now and is sitting in chairs, on a liquid diet, and is generally looking much better. We are still unsure as to when she will be out of the hospital. She greatly thanks everyone for the prayers and warm thoughts.

Hello all this is Nikita again. My mom is feeling much better. She is still in the hospital, but depending on one last test she may be able to come home tomorrow. When she comes home she will have to be on IV antibiotics through her port for awhile.

Hello all, Nikita again.
On Friday, my mom had surgery on her foot due to a sack of puss underneath a blood clot that was causing her much pain. They drained 50cc of fluid from the mass and was on high doses of pain medication. Saturday morning, my dad and I received a call from the hospital saying she had been moved back to the ICU because she had been unresponsive that morning and could not breathe well. When questioned if she had been over medicated, the doctors would not give us a straight answer. My mother believes she was overdosed because they gave her a shot (of an unknown medication) that caused her entire body to burn and caused her to throw up frequently. An hour after my dad questioned the doctor's she was being moved to the Navy Hospital. At NNMC they had to re bandage her foot because of the amount of bleeding and lack of quality care to it. We are still not sure when she will be home but she is feeling better.

I'm glad she's feeling better. As for the former hospital something smells fishy.

Thanks for posting again Nikita...been wondering how she is doing. Sorry, you had to go through the weird medicine thingy...so scary to feel like you have to be there every second to overwatch what med's she is getting. I hope your taking care of yourself too..and getting some time to relax and take it easy. I know that my girls are quite upset when I'm in the hospital. Guess I'm just saying make sure you have someone to talk to and if you don't...ask!
Tell your mom lots of hugs and prayers here for your fam.
