Hey mygirls! Sorry to hear about your lupus diagnosis. The only people I know who have one kidney and lupus are people who have had a transplant due to lupus. There new kidney is doing great! How long have you had one kidney? I assume they are going to watching your kidney very closly?

Hi,

Im 20 and was born with one kidney, the cells that make up the kidney also make up the ears and I have a sister who is Deaf..
I was diagnosed in Dec 2010 with Epilepsy, and put on Lamictal. After about 6 months I started to break out with a Lupus like rash on my face. After investigation I found out that one of the rare unlisted side effects of Lamictal is a lupus rash. We were only told to be concerned about a rash on the limbs which I did not have. Because of the one kidney and the seriousness of the meds my mom called the company, explained our situation regarding the one kidney and asked if there were any information I needed that is not listed in the meds paperwork, they told me no. Ive had all my kidney functions checked yearly, until Dec when we started checking monthly. Since Im no longer on Lamictal and I am on Keppra we check every 3 weeks so far all my blood work has always come out fine

6 months later, today in fact we just got home from an appt to go over blood work. My titers are 2650, we are going to do more blood work to find out if it was drug induced or something that was dormant.

Thanks for getting back to me
