I went to my first rheumy appointment yesterday after waiting almost a month. It was an hour drive to get there, traffic, and pouring down rain. I was totally prepared for my appointment, had a list of symptoms, pre-existing problems, current medications, etc. I got to my appointment, went in my purse and realized I left my list at homeVIEW IMAGE The doctor was super nice, and asked me a ton of questions, and I tried to recall everything I could. When I got home and checked out my list there were some symptoms I didn't tell him. He sent me for a bunch of labwork and wants to see me back in 3 weeks to go over results. So I don't know what to do...should I call the office and tell them I'm a space cadet and forgot some of my symptoms or do I just wait until I go back in 3 weeks?? I've had these bouts of confusion lately and I think I was so nervous about yesterday I blanked out. Dangit.

Maybe call the office and see if you can email or fax the list to them. Or even mail it immediately and it will get there before your next appointment.

But honestly, I doubt the Dr will look at your chart until the day of the next appointment - so maybe put your list in your purse now to be sure you have it with you...or put a copy in your car?

Don't worry, you are not a dummy -- we all tend to forget our lists in the nervousness of seeing a new doctor. I'm sure he'll understand.

Hang in there,

Thank you Lynnwood. I figured maybe just wait, but I didn't want to pull a "Hey I forgot to mention I'm a mess" lol. Oy I wanted to smack myself for this but what can I do. He is suspicious of lupus, possibly drug-induced lupus because of some heart meds I take. I just thought if it were drug induced I would have felt worse when I first started the meds, which was like 5 years ago. I don't know. I got a ton of labwork done yesterday so we shall see what happens!
