I have had a long history with several issues. Most of it came to a head in 2009 when I was diagnosed with severe anemia. At the time, I was having a lot of joint pain. I also have had Raynauds for years, and my mom and an aunt have RA. Doc ran an ANA test that came back positive 1:640 homogenous (That is where they stopped testing. Doc said it could have been higher.). PCP sent me to a rheumy who said I as probably brewing something autoimmune, but since my DNA stuff came back negative, said I really didn't have anything. I have since then battled the anemia, underwent 12 IV iron infusions and had a hysterectomy. I was sick of going to the doctor and decided just to deal with this on my own. Well, I think I have come to the end of my rope. My joint pain has spread to more joints and is now so bad that I am taking 500 mg naproxen and extra-strength tylenol twice a day to try to cope. I also have periods where I feel cruddy, like I'm sick, but I'm not really sick. Also have had periods where my brain was not working well, and I am just so tired. I just feel like I cannot stand this pain any more. My spine is fused T3-L2, and I am used to pain and have quite a high pain tolerance, but this has worn me down. Also, I have put on some weight, and it makes me wonder about thyroid stuff.

I am thinking of going back to a different rheumy. A friend of mine has lupus, and the original rheumy I went to was the same one she used to see. However, he did not care well for her, and she has since found a doc she really likes. I thought I would try him. I am just afraid I am going to go back and hear again that there isn't really anything wrong with me. I don't know if I could take that again.

I'm sorry to be rambling, I just needed to get that out. Do you think I should try this new rheumy? Go back to my pcp? I just want to feel better. Thanks for listening.

Sounds to me like checking in with the new rheumy would be a great idea! No reason to suffer if you don't have to.
