Hi Im new to all this I went about 9 months ago to a neurologist Because I deal with Migrains, I was sent for a Mri and they found some spots two on the white mass of the brain and I went in because I was feeling tired but cant always sleep jpoint pain I feel like i have the flu, but dont chest pains,I have fatigue ,My brain feels like its always in a fog and my family and I have just learned to joke about that, My ana came back postive But not sure the numbers I dont have a copy of my blood work, I was being tested for ms to start but when that came back she tested me for lupus, I had a spinal tap done and dna test and another test they came back normal, I had Hept c and did 4 different treatments which I thought I would never be the same after there treaments , And the truth is I have never felt good since being off  my last one 2007,  They consider you clear but you still carry the antibody, Would that make a postive ana test? I work a very high stressed job in a pharmacy ,Which aggravates the way I feel, So do I keep searching ,or just try to move on in life
Thank you so much Renee

Welcome to Healing Well!

Generally Lupus does not have spots in the brain. Positive ANA can be any number of diseases, read Lupus Resources (link below) to get a description.

I have no idea if Hep C would affect an ANA test, but surely your doc knows your history and would take that into consideration? Don't forget it is your right to ask questions!

What kind of Dr is doing these tests? If you are suspecting Lupus or another autoimmune disease, a Rheumatologist is the expert in these areas -- neurology and gp/pcp don't really know enough to diagnosis lupus. (Also check out diagnosing in link below.) It takes more than blood work to say yes/no to many diseases where heavy fatigue is involved.

Best wishes,

Thank you Lynn for your responce,
This doctor I went to was because of the Migrains, and my MRI, I figured because I have Times when my fingers go numb my knees and joints just ach the flu like symtoms come as I feel achy all over cold, I thought maybe it had to do with neruo problems,  The reason she did the other tests were because of my long list of complaints,That is when the results of the ana test were given and she said she would do another test, Well beings those came back Normal they sent me email, and said  the other tests were normal Have a good weekend, So left to think that hmm maybe what I have been feeling  Iam making something out of it and I shouldnt,I just know that over these last few years I have felt worse,I feel as if Im barley dragging through my days , And then some days I feel ok not great but ok , So I thought I would take a plunge to ask others , I guess I learned  when I was dealing with the hepc and treatment if I didnt look like I was on deaths door then I  should just suck it up and deal with it, But I thank  you so much for replying Maybe I wil get another opinion from a  Rheumatologist ,
Thank you
