I really don't think that they are the same. They are similar in that they are both autoimmune diseases and have similar symptoms if any at all.
Now that I've said that, I have to tell you all that I do have Hashimoto's Disease and am upset that this freakin' website doesn't have Hashi as a disease or condition listed. nono
I feel my disease is underrated, and hard to find forums for.
I wonder if I am supposed to be apart of this one. Will oyu guys take me in as one of your own? smilewinkgrin

Have you looked under the "thyroid disorders" subheading? I've seen people with Hashimoto's post there many times.
I post there sometimes because I'm Hypothyroid and I post here because I have Lupus.

Lupus attacks your body in many different ways: fevers, fatigue, major organ issues, etc.
Your white blood cells and antibodies attack healthy tissue like it's an invader.

Lupus really don't have anything in common with Hashimotos as far as I know.

You are certainly welcome to post here, but as we do not have Hashimoto's I don't know how much help we can provide you. We simply don't have symptoms or experiences in common.

As Joy said, we do have a Thyroid Disease forum at where you may find people with experience with Hashimotos who can share symptoms, treatments, etc with you.

Hope that helps,
Take care,
