about a month ago I saw my doctor for a followup visit. I had just gone through another round of specialized tests for my autoimmune arthritis which had been painfully escalating in intensity over the Winter. The results were inconclusive. No clear patterns. No answers. No magic bullet treatments. No diagnosis. The only proof I had was the unrelenting pain that pervaded my body's tired and achy joints and muscles and of course, the endless, draining fatigue.

This is my story about finding healing in the things that surround you. I hope it inspires you and brings you a sense of peace.

What beauty in those mountains and snow! I take comfort in the redwood trees surrounding my house and feel blessed every day by the fruits of my garden. I take amazing strength from that outdoor world. It is both my source of inspiration and connection to my deeper self. Thank-you for your beautiful words and pictures!

You are so lucky Laura to have found your own healing source of inspiration and hope. You know, it doesn't even take Nature to bring us back to that place..... it can be what surrounds us most of the time, friends and family.... they can be a source of inspiration too!

Thanks again for your kind comment!

I live in the Pacific northwest and take great joy and peace in the forests and beaches of my home area. It is a blessing to be close to nature, so soothing to the spirit.

I agree! I used to live in Washington State on the Olympic Penninsula and I have to say there is no more stunningly beautiful place in the world..... And I've been a lot of places. Just breathtaking. I miss it.
