Sometimes the challenges we face coping with chronic illness be downright overwhelming. We all experience those moments of weakness where we give way to the groundswell of emotions arising from our illness. It can be so difficult some days to truly stay focused on healing well. One of my Twitter friends posted recently that "the enemy is not pain. The enemy is despair." That is so true. But there is hope. To my friends who feel like giving up.....

I sometimes have to remind myself that every day is a gift.  Each morning when I wake up I take that first breath and realize in that moment that I have been given the opportunity to journey once more.  There are times when this mantra is difficult for me, especially when I have had a really difficult day the day before.  But I try to remember that we are blessed with a new beginning each day that the sun smiles on us.  I needed to remember that, since I will starting Imuran tomorrow.  Every time I get to this place of "something new" a lump always forms in my here I go for yet another ride.  I love this forum.  It gives me hope and inspiration.

My faith has helped me battle Lupus for the past 25 years. No, I haven't been cured of SLE, OA, chronic pain and fatigue, memory problems, PKD, or PKD, etc., but God has given me what I need to manage all of those diagnoses.

I recently found these and liked them so I want to share it with you- "When everything seems to go wrong . . .
PUSH = P-pray, U-until, S-something, H-happens."

"If we pursue mere earthly gain, we choose a path that ends in pain, but joy remains within the souls when we pursue a heavenly goal." by D. DeHaan

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of what may come, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV).
