I will most probably recieve a Lupus diagnosis very soon.  I also have a J Pouch as a result of toxic megacolon from Ulcerative Coliis.  My JPouch has failed however that's another story.  I know that some of the medication for Lupus may impact Inflammatory Bowel Disease.  So I'm wondering what other medications might be available for someone like me?

When I started this journey with Lupus, my doctor first perscribed NSAIDs, which wrecked havoc with my GI tract. I have been on Plaquenil, Prednisone, tried Methotrexate, tried Cell Cept and currently am on Imuran with the other two. Medication is an individual journey and everyone responds differently. Your doctors will know what is best for you and what you are going through. I always come prepared when I see Rheumy, with lots of questions about side effects, etc. Hang in there!!!
