Tonight I was hit with an odd flare...I guess it was a flare. confused

I started getting terrible stomach cramps, tremors, sweating, and feeling nauseous. It lasted for two hours ending with me having diarreha. skull

The pains and diarreha are gone now, thank goodness....

But now I'm left with ringing ears and dizzy spells. smhair

I did this before about 1 1/2 months ago. After a long car trip and a lot of sun. Today the UV index was 11 and I had to go to the store for 2 hours.

After getting fully "cleaned" out I feel better. It's so odd....

Hi Tater. Sounds to me like you had a foodborne illness and then became dehydrated from the sweating and diarrhea leaving you exhausted and dizzy. I used to be somewhat of an expert of foodborne illnesses (epidemiologist). Most folks think they're caused from what they most recently ate, but they fail to add incubation times. Glad you're feeling better! Love, Butterflake

Couchtater!! Hi, sounds like you had a bug. Hope you are better. Watch that sun young lady :)
Since I've gotten sick, I can pick up stomach bugs in a matter of hours. I always seem to have a "cleansing" after being around people. Of course with me, I have some other isssues to deal with (a possible case of PTSD) and crowds stress me out. No, it's not from what I did or saw over there, I have dealt with that better than most, mine is from post deployment stuff: the ill handling of my being sick from my squadron and docs. Such fun...drink plenty of fluids and rest. Hold off on going out dancing for a bit.lol

Hi Couchtater,

How funny that you just experienced those symtoms.  I started to get really nauseous on Sunday, early in the evening.  That was followed with fatugue and a roiling gut.  I was woken up out of a sound sleep by left quadrant pain, had three bowel movements and slept fitfully until I had to get up to go to work. Even had a few bouts of diarrhea before I had to leave.   I had nausea all day and into the next.  At first I thought it was food-borne bacteria, but for the life of me, I could not figure out what I ate that could have been the culprit.  Nothing made sense to me.  I know that my gut is a little more sensitive since I have been on the Imuran, but this felt different.  I have had more fatigue this week and the stomach still feels a little out of sorts.  Lupus always grabs me by surprise.  Just when I think I have a handle on it, something else comes up.  I had horrible GI inflammation 4 years ago and it was scary.  This doesn't feel like that.  Whatever it is, it feels different.  Thankfully, I see my Rheumatologist in two weeks.  Hope you are feeling better!!!''Laura

I never know what's Lupus related or just a bug now.
But my stomach's okay now except for tons of gas! :(
Don't light a match near me today. :))

OMG! I just love your sense of humor. My system finally settles down, but now I am dealing with brain fog. I am not sure which one is worse!!!

The brain fog is the worse for me. I find myself calling things/people the wrong name or totally forgetting what the items/person is called.
I couldn't remember the name of my favorite food today when I was ordering at the restaurant. :))
I've carried my house phone out to my car. I didn't realized I had it in my hand.
Torn my bedroom apart for my umbrella, said forget it... go out to the car in the rain...get in and remove my umbrella from my wrist! :)))
Start searching for something and forget what I was looking for. Start to say something and before I can get it out I forget what I was going to say. I'll even be talking with someone and forget I was talking to them. :))
I can't multi-task anymore. I get scrambled up.

Couchtater, hi. I am finding my symptoms are advancing faster than I think my rhuemy would like. I am having a hard time remembering names of foods or things. I had my first appt with my VA doc last week and on my way home, I forgot how to get home. Not too happy about that. I do know that I have a valid excuse of being forgetful than others now.lol
Ma was asking Pa yesterday if he had watered the tomatoes. he couldn't remember then she asked me if I took my vitamin. I couldn't remember. She looked at both of us and said one of you is old and one is oh I don't know, weird, and walked off. She turned around and said I'll let you decide which is which. good times...
ok, has your gas production leveled off???
funny, my tummy was giving well, still is giving me fits. It acts like I am going to lose all contents then ....nothing. Then I start feeling like my liver is going to come out of my nose inside out. what is this business???? not liking it.
well I do hope you and Oreo11 are doing better. Somone needs to...

I have to take probiotics to keep my tummy happy.

When I sit down at the dinner table with my 76 & 77 yr old parents and my 20 yr old niece, she complains how we all sit there taking medicine and grunting.
She makes up funny medicine names (ie: falfaloppies) and says she needs to take them. :))
She keeps telling me I need to start running and exercising and I'll feel better. :S
She's a bit of a health nut.
