Hi, I am a new lupus patient. I have a question. The other day my right foot just started hurting like I had sprained my ankle, when in fact, I had not. It hurts a lot and I an wondering if this is another one of the "lupus" symptoms that appear randomly.

Yes, that could be the lupus. Occasionally my toes feel like someone has injected hot burning oil into them! Or I might get a swollen inflamed joint like your ankle. Usually you can look at your current bloodwork and you'll see increases in your inflammation markers which will confirm it's Lupus playing with your body.

I woke up this morning with stabbing pain under my breastbone and around areas of that even. The pain is so sharp I don't know what it can be. I don't see my Rhuemy until Sept. Is this Lupus related as well.

It can be related to the Lupus when the nerves get inflamed, they lock up and it feels as if you are being stabbed with a knife. The safest thing to do is to call your rheumotologist office to make sure they don't want to see you. They may forward you on to your GP. I sit on a huge rubber exercise ball and slide down so the ball is in my back with my arms and legs hanging down to the floor. I will warn you that this can be excruciating! Then the pain is gone and this works for me. Good Luck!
