My hair is getting thinner and thinner! smhair
I keep finding more hair in the drain and on my hairbrush everyday. If I run my fingers through my hair I feel short stubby hairs. I also can see my pink scalp more and more everyday. shocked
I used to have a thick full head of hair. My hairstylist used to be amazed at how thick my hair was and comment on it everytime I saw her. I'm only 44 and I see me going bald at this rate by the time I'm 45! shocked

I'm not flaring major just the usual aches and pains. eyes

Is it normal to lose your hair even during a non-flare?

Hi Joy,

Hair loss waxes and wanes for me.  Sometimes I lose more when I am not in a flare.  My hair loss also got worse when I went through menopause.  I relate to how you are feeling because I used to have a beautiful thick head of hair and now its gotten so thin, especially around the ends.  I also can't stand the bristle hairs that stand upon end everywhere.  They seem to have gotten even worse around my forehead.  Sometimes I think about just cutting it all off and starting over....but I am afraid of what might come back in :-) .  Stress can also cause hair loss.

Since I started with my 3-4 1300 Evening in Primrose my hair thickness has double. My eye lashes have grown 1/2" and the downside is that I have to pluck my eyebrows for the first time in 20 yrs.

Talk to your Doc and or your pharmacist before you make any major changes. It does work for me. E in P raises your GLA. Check it out on the web.

I used to have really thick hair when I was younger, but ever since my lupus diagnosis it has gotten MUCH thinner, I keep my hair short now so that it looks a little thicker, because the longer I let it grow, the thinner it looks. I also go through phases where I lose more in the shower or in my hairbrush. On the bright side though, those short hairs you mentioned are probably new growth coming in.
Lots of love,

Also, it sounds like you have been very stressed out lately, which I've found will trigger that.

I thought I'd post this for anyone who might want to try it.

Knox gelatin(the clear kind used in canning.) 1-2 TBSP in liquid once a day.

I have had MCTD for years and as such have been on Prednisone, and MTX as well. My hair began thinning and I decided to try the above, my Nana's recipe. My hair is super think and grows really fast. It also helps with fingernails.

I cant promise you that it will work for you, but at less than a dollar a package, it is cheap enough to try.

Hope this helps.

I used to take pure geletin capsules. But they became hard to find in my area.
I might haver to go buy some knox.

I cut all my hair off because I was sick of clogging up the drains, and it was getting so bad that I'd have clumps of hair in my hands after shampooing. Big clumps. Now I'm growing it back out and it's so awful looking in the in between stage! I kinda wished I'd just bought some drano! ;) Mine was falling out all over, not in patches. I haven't noticed any hair loss since it's been short though.
