Hi all! I'm normally over on the fibro board, but I wanted to ask something here about Lupus. I've been tested in the past by my rheumy (last testing for Lupus was about 4 years ago, negative results) but it does run in my family. Over the past sevaral months I've noticed lots of really strange things. First, I run a fever around 99.7 to 100.3 the majority of days. I have been getting these crusty sores inside my nose that won't go away no matter what I use. I've tried saline sprays, Vasoline, Neosporen without any change in the sores. I've started getting crusty scabby things in the corner of my mouth when I've been in the sun (and I'm completely addicted to lip balm, I apply it seriously about 20 times a day, so the lip sores aren't from dryness) My grandmother has lupus and she INSISTS that these are some of the odd symptoms of lupus. I have an appointment with my rheumy in 2 weeks. Do the things I've described sound like strange lupus symptoms you all have experienced?

Lupus attacks everyone differently.
However your nose sores do sound familiar. Ouch! They are very hard to treat. I use Ayre nasal gel to help me.

Ask your doctor to run a new ANA test on you. Sometimes it changes.

Yes, I've experienced everything you've mentioned...they can be part of Lupus. BUT, on the other hand, they can be symptoms of something else entirely. Try not to worry, and let the rheumy do his/her job.
