Does anyone know how much cellcept actually effects how well birth control works? I know the slip from the pharmacy says to use two non hormonal forms of birth control because obv it would be bad to actually get pregnant. I've been on my bc for years and have never had an issue so my dr is ok with me being on it w/ the lupus so I'm not gonna stop taking it but my boyfriend just saw the slip from the package and like freaked out about not wanting kids yet. I've asked 2 doctors this question and neither knew the answer, both my gyno and my rheumy...have any of y'all heard an answer??

My Doctor told me that cellcept makes birth control pills not nearly as affective as normal so I would have to use two types. After discussing it with my husband and OB we decided to use an IUD because it is 99% effective even with the cellcept. So, yay! Problem solved for 10 yrs with a paraguard IUD.
