Well, my private insurance is delaying my appeal for another 45 days. They were supposed to let me know this Friday.
They contacted my Dr and wanted to talk to her on the phone but she told them she will only correspond in writing. So now they say they are waiting for her to fill out the paperwork.
I am going to call her on Monday to encourage her to do it as quickly as possible.

This is really getting ridicoulous. All they are doing is playing delay tactics which is really discouraging. I'm not giving up though, even if I have to get a lawyer.

Just venting. Thanks for listening. wink

Don't give up, that is what they want you to. Just play the game as frustrating as it is. Fortunately for me, my company paid for the lawyer representation because they had no job they could put me in and couldn't fire me for being disabled. But the paperwork and doctor visits and time was still frustrating and ridiculous and painful. Just keep plugging along, write every down because you won't remember what happened yesterday lol, I know I wouldn't and come hear to vent, we listen. Been there done that.

Sending good thoughts and gentle hugs, hoping things work out quickly for you and a call to the doctor on Monday helps. If you have to, offer to let them charge your insurance for an office visit for the doctor to fill out the paperwork, or in you don't have insurance (sorry I don't remember your circumstance, fibro fog), and you can afford it offer to pay what you can to get the doctor to do something for you. My doctor always told me this paperwork was done on his time, and I understand that, but I needed it done so what could I do?

Private LTD is notorious for denying you and making it as hard as possible for you. That is their whole mission in life! They really want you to give up and go away -- don't let them win!!!

Please consider getting a disability attorney -- one who has experience with the insurance companies is best. The one I found (it does take a lot of digging, these are NOT the regular SSD guys) even used to work on the insurance side of things and really knew his stuff. As silly as it seems, a letter from me got no results, but the identical letter from him got things going right away.

At his suggestion I got a neuropsych exam that really proved to everyone, SSD included, that the "brain fog" I had really was serious cognitive dysfunction...and that got all the disability folks to shut up and send me money!!

You'll know you have the right attorney when they tell you what percentage of what they collect they will take -- it's usually a somewhat small percentage of the "back payments" they manage to collect for you -- it is well worth twice that in my opinion!!! Mine took about 3 years, so do not give up! And do not hire anyone who wants to do per hour or something -- those are the shysters.
