Is this a new symptom? My sinuses have 'thickened'- ENT says the tissue is inflamed and has given me a steroid spray to see if that helps before doing a CTscan. This was found when x-rayed because I lost my voice and couldn't stop coughing; clear lungs and a dry cough. The biggest problem symptom for me is pleurisy so I wonder if this could be linked.

Would really like to know if this is a problem for others with Lupus/Connective Tissue Disease?

Yup. Good ole' Lupus with it's random "attack whatever offends me today" method of operation.

My nose tissue is constantly inflamed; they may have decided it's secondary Sjogren's Syndrome - whatever else it is, it's a daily irritant. Doesn't seem quite like what you have, but any inflammation is related to Lupus. I hope the steroid spray helps.

You bring up a good point with the pleurisy - except that is inflammation *around* the lungs rather than *in* the lungs, so they probably aren't related. Except that they both may be Lupus-related.

Hang in there!

Hi CaseyRed. I have sinus problems and had sinus surgery a couple of years ago, but I never had an uncontrolable cough with it. Just a thought, you may want to see your primary care or a pulmonologist if you haven't seen one. There are pulmonary problems that don't show up on x-rays. Love, Butterflake
