Hi all,
I've been reading through the forums and decided to post.
I don't have lupus as far as I know. At least I hope not. I'm 43 and
I've had joint pain for a couple years but the last couple of weeks it's been really bad in hips, fingers, back. I also have been very fatigued. I have redness across my nose and cheeks but not sure if I would call it a rash. I have had pleurisy twice but that was several years ago. I am always itchy and sometimes I get a very itchy rash on my chest and scalp. I get very hot and sweaty at night. I toold my doctor in the past that my joints hurt but she said its likely do to aging, though she did no tests. My main problem is the fatigue and joint pain. I am so tired sometimes I lay in bed all day. I am newly married and I feel bad because I'm always tired and in pain. My husband has demanded that I go to the docs so I am going to make an appt. I do not get a rash from the sun but my daughter does all the time. She is grown and we don't communicate but after reading about lupus I am worried for her. I'm not sure what is wrong with me but I thought it might be psoriatic arthritis or possibly lupus. I would love some advice. How should I prepare for my doc appt? Can I do something to ease my fatigue? Thank you in advance for any info.
Best wishes, Mary.

Ps. I forgot to mention I have always had allergies. I also forgot to mention I've had frequent urination the last couple of days and some upper right abdominal pain. I also suffer from depression.

The first appointment is a getting to know you appointment. He'll ask about your symptoms, history, exam, and take a ton of bloodwork.

The best thing to do is to sit down and write down everything you've experienced and carry it with you to the visit. Also write down any questions you may have.

Be patient for the results. Some of the tests take a few weeks to get results back.

Thank you so much Joy for your reply. I'm going to try to get in tomorrow to see my doc. I really do not feel well at all. The redness across my face has now turned into a rash and my eyes feel so dry and scratchy. The pain in my hip and back is so bad. I feel like such a baby for complaining so much but man I feel just awful.
