Hi everyone!

So, I haven't posting in a really long time. First off, I want to say that I hope everyone is doing well...at least, as well as an be expected :)

I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with ischemic colitis. I started having severe diarrhea, to the point of losing weight and becoming so malnourished now that are going to start a PICC line and nourish me that way. They have taken me on and off meds for three years to see if that is the cause of my bowel issues but it isn't. up until my last colonoscopy 5 mos ago, all my tests had been normal. This is so awful..my GP told me I'm dying. Nice, huh? My rheumy is at a loss because it looks like my lupus is fairly stable and he's not sure about it being vasculitis..the prednisone is not resolving this issue either. Ugh! My GP does think its all autoimmune related. Just wondering what they could be overlooking..if anyone else has gone through this and has anything to share, I would love to hear about it..feeling so alone and afraid!

Thank you!!!

Hi there, this is Kitt.  I do not have colitis but my husband does however he has not had this problem.

I am posting the link to Mayo regarding this disorder as I see they mention factor V Leiden and that I do have.  Thought it may be helpful for you.

I hope someone with better info comes along shortly and shares with you, meanwhile, I wish you the best and know we care.

Kindly,
Kitt

Thank you, kitt...forgot to mention that I did have a CTA yesterday and got those results back today. Everything was fine except something and I don't know what it means yet. I see my GP in a few weeks. She thinks everything is related to my lupus. My rheumie, on the other hand, does not. Ugh! I am just sick of this..of all things, this is way worse than my lupus! Can't be far from a bathroom, EVER! No way to live a life..no, it is no life! Anyway, thank you for responding and or posting the link :)
