My younger brother has recently been diagnosed with CNS lupus. Over the last month or so. He has experienced two seizures and inflammation around the brain, he has lost over 60lbs. Does anyone have any suggestion of medication that could be helpful at this stage. or better yet any specialist near Colorado Springs.

Hello and welcome! There is a thread marked "Lupus Resources" at the top of this forum which is very informative. I am sorry that your brother (as well as the rest of your family) is going through this. As I am not familiar with your area, I cannot recommend any particular doctors, but a good rheumatologist is the place to start. I have systemic lupus, and my rheumy has me taking Plaquenil, CellCept, and Bactrim (even though Bactrim is not usually used for lupus patients, I tolerate it better than other antibiotics). The CNS involvement may require some different meds, as well as (possibly) a neurologist. Hope your brother starts getting things under control and feeling better, soon. He needs a good support group and you are definitely that!
Take care, Fran
