How many of you have been refused health insurance due to Lupus?

I lost the insurance I had when I was laid off and couldn't afford COBRA. Now when I apply for insurance I've been told to sign up for PCIP (pre-existing condition insurance).
PCIP says you've got to not be covered for 6 months before they accept you or have a refusal letter signed by an Agent. Plus it's very expensive!!! shakehead

I applied over the net and was refused over the phone.... How do I get the letter?
I've got to get it to them within 10 days.

Were you able to get health insurance quickly and who was it with?

Help!!!! smhair

The new health law bans that but it does not go into effect until 2014. All you can do is see if your state has a high risk insurance pool and if it is affordable. Illinois has one but it is very expensive.
