Well I had an appointment yesterday with my new Rheumy.  Everything is looking pretty good.  Starting on Hydroxychlor.  Basically my lupus is pretty mild. Mostly sun sensitivity is what affects me.  If i'm out in the sun too long, of course, I will get rash on my forheard, nose and cheeks.  During the summer months my arms will break out also.  Lately I have been having alot of aches and pains throughout my body...my legs and ankles mostly.  And at times my arms feel soo heavy, I don't even want to lift them or move them.  I had some xrays done and I don't have arthritis.  My rheumy said that depression could cause those aches and pains as well.  I haven't seen a dr for depression but I am considering it.  I don't think i'm severly depressed but could at times get into a funk over things which may start for the flare up.  Should I make an appt with my family dr and get checked for depression?  Do any of you experience this?

Yes, I have depression. I'm not sudicidal but I have my sad days and overwhelmed with my conditions. For some reason depression likes to mess with us. I take paxil and will be seeing a therapist next week to help me.
The plaquenil will help with that lead arm feeling, but it will take about 3-6 months for the full effect to kick in.
Are you using sunscreen and covering up from sunlight and fluorescent lights?
My rheumy praised me today for wearing SPF clothes. He said it will help me a lot.

I will be glad when the meds start to do their thang. I do use sunscreen often, there are times I forget. But I try to stay out of the sun and fluorescent lights as much as possible. I don't have any SPF clothing but I am gonna do some looking into it. =)

Try coolibar.com or sungrubbies.com

I love coolibar clothing it's lightweight and feels silky to me.

Sungrubbies was having a sale on their unisex t-shirts. However, they are cut very long. So if you're a petite (under 5'5") be prepared to have some cut off the tail.

Sorry it has been a while since I've been on here. I try and stay positive but sometimes it gets hard. I tell myself that there are worse situations to be in. I count my blessings everyday and do my best to keep on the bright side of things.
