Anybody have lupus and asthma?

My asthma has been really bad lately and I wonder if my lungs are being affected by the lupus?

Hi Joy,

Years ago, before the actual Lupus diagnosis, I was diagnosed with "Asthma" and perscribed inhalars as treatment.  They never really worked.    It turns out after they gave me the Lupus diagnosis that what I was really experiencing was lung inflammation due to the Lupus.  Prednisone really helped with those bouts of asthma-like symptoms.   It's not as bad now, but it does tend to worsen during times of stress and chilly, damp weather (which we are having now in my neck of the woods).

I've been through two 9 day rounds of predisone in two months. I don't cough while on it, but within two days off I start back.
I guess it's off to see the pulmologist next week. :( $$$$$

Maybe she'll put me on a very low dose for awhile. :/

Hi Joy,

It could help. And the good thing about Prednisone, it's not too expensive....not like some of the other drugs we take :)
