Good evening ladies.. (which I assume most of you are lol)
me and several others think I may have lupus.. Here's what I've been experiencing.
Malar rash 2x in one month.. Feels hot like I've been slapped or windburn.
Spotty red rash on my chest and upper arms
For about 2 weeks an incomprehensible exhaustion (they say there's no exhaustion like lupus exhaustion)
Wierd knee feelings like right in the joints lots of pressure
Fingers locking up and painful to bend
Hideous muscle aches and spasms like someone beat me with a bat
An all over feeling of stiffness
Bizzare mood changes, like happy as a clam one second and freaking out in tears another
Horrific headaches
Painful to take a deep breath resulting in coughing fits
Low grade fevers (99.7-100.5)
Trouble regulating body temp (one minute freezing my arse off, then stripping to cool off)
Severe night sweats (I can be cold as the 8th circle of hell and be sweating like a tramp in church)
Numbness in appendages
mouth sores, esp on my tongue
Forgetfulness (mon night I was on the phone with my friend and I kid you not I couldn't for the life of me remember what I had done that day.. Still can't.. I try to think about it and literally draw a blank, forget entire conversations, stop midscentence)
so do you think it's a good idea to be tested? I'd really appreciate input :] thanks

Your symptoms do sound similar but I'm not a doctor. Ask your doctor to run a complete ANA panel with titers, c3, c4, metabolic panel, and SED rate.

I pray you don't have this aggrevating pain in the caboose disease. :(

Ask you Dr about your symptoms, but I don't recommend asking your Dr about a specific disease or tests. If they don't come up with something, *then* say something like "I was wondering if these symptoms are similar to lupus". Drs can get testy if they think you've already diagnosed yourself.

And note that primary care or general physicians aren't really trained to treat auto-immune diseases, if you do come up with a positive ANA the Dr should give you a referral to a rheumotologist.

Best wishes

The symptoms some how sound similar to the Lupus. If it is diagnosed then you can get confirmed.
