Hi ya'll, I am Shannon. 40 yrs old, married, mother of 4, grandma(meme) of 2, and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I share the last part because I feel that that IS a part of who I am today. :-)
I will share anything, anyone has questions about.
I have been with my husband for almost 24 yrs. Our marriage lasted 5 yrs, resulting in divorce after domestic violence. We manage to live together since then, but with lots of trials. There is no way that I will leave him. Things were worse when I did. I can't live without him, and he can't live without me. So we figure things out when they get bad. There is no violence, and hasn't been since 1995. I truly believe that we are right where God wants us to be. We have 4 children, 3 girls and our baby boy. Oldest girl will be 23 this year and has my newest grandson who is 4 months old; my next daughter will be 20 this year and has my 19 month old grandson; my next daughter will be 15 this year, and our son just turned 12. We are truly blessed with our children.
My son was born in Feb of 2001, I had my tubes tied after delivery and since he was 9 months old, I have been sick. It was the flu season, around the first of Dec, and well, we got a stomach infection called shigella(sp). very deadly infection. we were all corentened(sp). I have not been the same since. all of my family recovered but me. sure i felt better but not completely.
In 03, I had my gall bladder removed. In 06 I had a partial hysterectomy, they left my ovaries. I have no idea why, since they were so small to see, and to me they were just useless. In late 07, I had a diagnostic surgery, only finding adhesions from previous surgeries. I have had a colonoscopy finding only a few very small spots, they didnt do anything to them.
I have been dx with.... IBS, IC, PTSD, osteoporosis, otosclerosis, hypoglacemic (sp), pelvic floor dysfunction, tinnitus, rheumatoid arthritist, degenerative disc disease, allergies, psoriasis, oral diseases TMJ, gingivitis, carpal tunnel in both wrists, restless leg syndrome and allergies. I am sure that I have missed some.
My symptoms are back pain top middle and lower, numbness and pain in hands arms, shoulders, neck. Headaches. Blurriness. feeling faint at times, low blood pressure. bladder pain, kidney pain, urinary leakage, trouble going. constipation. mouth sores, trouble swallowing. trouble breathing, allergy attacks to cause asthma symptoms, but no asthma, test negative. thryoid neg also. mass on pituitary gland, and major headaches! migraines! Pain down both legs, and feet. If i wasn't taking the lodine, I wouldn't be able to walk!
I have been in the 'process of elimination' on what has been wrong with me, and last aug/sept, my primary sent me to a neurosurgeon. that visit was quick and easy, he sent me to a neurologist and did bloodwork, plus the EMG/NCT were done, which found the carpal tunnel. I had surgery on right wrist on Jan 25 and will do left one, in a month or two. I was dx with SLE lupus 2 weeks after these tests were done. Finally Feb 6th, I seen a rheumy and he gave me plaquenil. I have posted in the PROTEIN IN URINE forum also.
Thanks for your time, and I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully, learning from your experiences. God bless :-)
