But I'm not giving up! mad

I have already made an appointment with a lawyer on Tuesday. I'm going to fight! mad

I just hate giving the lawyer part of my money, but I need this to survive.

I'm sorry Joy that you received a denial letter from SSDI. Just about everyone gets that the first time around. It's good that you have an attorney to handle everything.

I was denied my first time and hired an attorney, I was denied 2 more times before I had a hearing in front of a judge. It can be a long drawn out process, I was very happy to have an attorney to handle the paperwork, I was just to sick to do it on my own.

Keep fighting and hang in there.

Hugs,
Barbara

Thanks, Barbara.
They said I could still work in the letter. At what? My illnesses are too unpredicable to hold down a full-time job.

The stats a few years ago were that 2/3s get denied on 1st application, 85-90% on 2nd BUT 2/3s get approved on 3rd application which goes to an administrative law judge instead of a state adjudicator.  The problem is that some states have huge backlogs with a long wait.  I am sure with federal and state budget problems that time has not decreased.

I was denied first go around also. Make sure you stay after getting your SSI so that you can at least get your Medicaid started!! That way you can get some income started and medical.
Good luck and hang in there!!!

Joy, just wanted to wish you well in your SSDI case. Make sure you give all paperwork from Social Security to your attorney.

Let them handle everything from here on.

Good luck,

Hugs,
Barbara
