Okay, I'm always religious about wearing my sun protective clothing from my shirt, to my hat, to my gloves.
Well, today I wasn't feeling very clear headed and my brother called asking if I could help him with sending him some gas money. He's worse off than me in the financial department. I hurry to get dressed for going outside.
Half way to town my hands start hurting. I think "oh, boy, flare's coming on".
Then I look down at my hands...no gloves! nono
My hands were hurting from the sun shining in on me. skull
Too late to return back to get them I hurry on to send the money.
I'm sitting here now with my hands so painful and kicking myself for setting off a flare. mad

Joy,

Sorry you're flaring (((hugs))). I hope you felt a bit better today. I hope that you will have less pain and fatigue over the weekend.

Hugs,
Barbara

Joy,

I just experienced my first sun flare two weekends ago and have no idea how much sun my body will even tolerate without freaking out or shall I say "flaring" out. I'm trying to keep a sense of humor about this. I am new to the whole sun sensitivity issue.

All joking aside, I am sorry you are in a flare. I know, now, how you feel. :( Being new to sun sensitivity, I am assuming you wear gloves because sunblock doesn't work for you? What other precautions do you usually take? I'm all ears and soaking up as much info as I can.

I hope you feel better soon and that your flare is short-lived!

I wear the gloves because Sunscreen is so expensive and it comes off real easy. It gets very frustrating when everytime I want to go out I have to slather myself in gooey cream.
I still get ill even then from the sun.

I like the sun protection clothes you can find online at coolibar.com. They carry lightweight clothes with SPF 50+.
I have several hats, shirts, and gloves from them. I wear heavy dark jeans for leg protection and tennis shoes for my feet. My feet wil hurt if I go outside in sandals.

I have to stay away from anything emmitting UV rays (sunlight, tanning beds, fluorescent lights, CFL bulbs, and halogen lights).
Even headlights on a car will make me sick. :/
I might have it a little worse than some people because simple incadesecent bulbs will hurt me. They shouldn't but they do.
My bedroom/sitting area is lit with LED light ropes and a LED lamp.

Joy I saw on your fibro post that you were maybe feeling a bit better today. It sounds like the other issues are getting fixed one by one. Just wanted you to know I was thinking about you today.
