All week I've been struggling with allergies.  Stuffy nose, itchy ears.  No fever.
today I wake up with a sore throat and now have developed a dry cough and my chest feels like it's getting an infection.  (hot and that yucky taste when I cough).  My Lupus has caused pleurisy in the past.
Now I'm not sure if I need to see my regular doctor or my Rhuemy?  Anyone know if allergies can cause flares? I'm sorta new to Lupus...

What a funny response Couchtater.  Yeah,,I have flaring allergies for sure! LOL! I called my doctor's office,,,waiting for a call back to see if I need to go in or not.  It's supposed to be a really nice weekend and I don't want to be sick!!!

There might be a connection between allergies and autoimmune diseases but I don't think it has been established.
MCTD (SLE Lupus, polymyositis, scleroderma). Diagnosed 2005. Kidney, liver, GI tract, dysphagia, raynauds, barretts esophagus, quadriplegic in 2005. Recovered and now active in downhill skiing, golf, hiking. Meds: amlodipine, benezapril, omeprazole, potassium, folic acid, vitamins, maxide.

Remain Optimistic and you can overcome.
