I know this sounds odd but I never know when it's important to see the doctor. confused

Right now I'm running a fever that is 2 points higher than my normal. My hands have felt hot to the touch for about a week. My joints are stiff and achy. I feel so tired and a little down. sad Because of the fibro I'm always a little achy and down.

Last night I couldn't get in a comfortable position and tossed and turned until sunrise. redface It took two round of listening to my sleep tape to relax enough to sleep.

I've got a mild cough and sniffle, but I have allergies too and it's allergy season now.

My ribs are sore under my arm area when I breath out and in. Some mild pain on my breastbone.

I don't want to be thought as a hypochondriac but when do you get concern about the aches and pains? smhair

Hi Joy,  At the minimum, I would call your doctor.  At least have a phone conversation about your concerns.  They might even want to see you and check you out.  I have gotten myself into trouble before when I waited too long.  Hang in there!!

My general rule is that if it lasts more than 4-5 days, and isn't responding to my normal meds or whatever variations on them my Dr has approved, then a call or visit to the Dr is probably in order.

With it being a holiday I can't reach him today or any of my other doctors. If I'm still feeling this way tomorrow I'm going to call him.
Today I've got extremely achy arms every muscle hurts to be touched and the joints are painful.
Grrrrr.

Joy,

Sorry to hear that you may be in the middle of a flare. I hope when you wake up later today that you feel better.

However, if you're not feeling any better, I'd give your doc a call and let them know what's going on.

I hope that if in fact you are flaring that the Dr can offer some help to you. I hope that you start feeling much better real soon.

By the way, I noticed your post on the Fibro boards that your kitty had to have surgery, how is she doing? Did she get to come home today?

Hope you both start feeling much better soon.

Hugs,
Barbara

I'm better today, Barbara. It took a piping hot bath, Tylenol, rubbing my arms down in BenGay, and aspercreme to calm them down. I have a little discomfort in my arms but nothing like it was yesterday.

My fur baby is home today. She has stitches from stem to stern on her belly. She's resting comfortable on her favorite spot. The antibiotics have upset her tummy some but she's acting so much more perky now.

Infected gallbladder.....

Joy,

How is your flare doing? I hope you are feeling better today. When do you see your Rheumy next? I hope that he can come up with a solution and you can begin to feel better again.

Glad your furry friend is home and doing well. Thank goodness it was just her gallbladder, and not something so much worse.

Take care and let us know how are doing.

Hugs,
Barbara

I called my rhuemy and left a message on Tuesday and had him send me a predisone pack. It was called in on Wednesday after the flare had died down. Sigh...

I decided to hold on to the pred until it flared it's ugly head again.

It's crazy how this illness can twist up our lives.

Hi Joy,

I am sooooooooooooooooooo glad that you called your doctor.  And even happier to hear that you are feeling better.  And good to hold on to the Prednisone pack until your body flared again.  I agree, this illness can definitely twist our lives around.  It is so darned unpredictable!!
