I go to my free clinic at my college, and through them I had some tests done. Everything looked normal, except that I feel HORRIBLE every day, and struggle to live a normal life because of the pain, plus the positive ANA.
So I wanted to tell you my symptoms and see what you think. My doc and I are currently looking at Lupus but I don't want my opinions to be made in a vacuum.

*Positive ANA (1:160 Speckled Pattern 1 Titer 1.)
*Butterfly/ Malar rash on nose, cheeks, chest when upset, happy, hot, sometimes at random.
*Hands hurt at random (made ceramics class hard to do, hehe)
*Icy cold toes and fingers
*Aches and pains everywhere, at random
*Backaches (although I have been treated for scoliosis and an injury so this may be irrelevant)
*Inflammation
*Joint pain
*Red speckles on my thighs (very new)
*General fatigue/malaise almost daily
*Random fevers ranging from 99 to 100
*Photosensitivity/Heat Sensitivity

Any ideas? I'm getting CMSP and I'm on Gabapentin and Soma to help my back (it REALLY does work, so at least that's taken care of.) But I really want the opinion of people with Lupus or people whose families have been through this. I want to know if it's even possible so that I'm prepared when I have a permanent doctor.

Thank you.

Those do sound like some of the lupus symptoms.
Are you on plaquenil for the fatigue and to slow down the progress of the disease?
Gaba will help with the nerve pain. I'm on that for my fibromyalgia pain.

Go to lupus.org for a very detail information on lupus and doctors who are registered with the lupus organization.

It's not the "fun-est" of diseases but it can be managed.

Oh, it is certainly not the "fun-nest" whatever it is. I'm almost certain it's Lupus. The rash, the icy fingers, the petechia... the problem is, my clinic at school doesn't treat chronic pain so I need California aid to get me a doc, then my man's money to pay for pills. Great, right? Well, if it works it works.

One doctor thought the ANA was BS but something is seriously wrong. I don't care is it's Lupus, cancer, or the grim reaper punching me in the face; I just want to know what it is, you know? So I have one month to get a doctor.

I'm on Gabapentin for the nerve pain and it does help, but in LARGE doses (at least 600mg BID). And I take Soma for a muscle relaxer, which as crazy as it sounds, helps my butt which is in constant muscular pain. My shoulders are a bit better too. So I'm pretty happy. I asked for Clonazepam because of the anxiety associated with all this (plus PTSD, etc) but my new doc put me on less Soma and less Klonopin and said that a lot of pain could be from depression, so now I'm on 4 pills, the last of which is Lexipro. I can't believe it works (and this is the first time I've admitted it in public!)

And thanks for your help, couchtater <3
