I hate steroids!

I have been on prednisone for a long time. I managed to wean off for 9 weeks but had to start taking it again over a month ago. I am at this point fed up! And if anyone can relate I know its you guys! My hunger is beyond out of control. I feel like I have to stuff myself to get full and fullness doesn't last long. I eat dinner and I immediately have a sweet tooth, sometimes in the middle of dinner all I can think about it ice cream or something else sweet. I've tried to load the fridge with healthier or low cal stuff but it just doesn't make me full. My husband works swing shift and when I do work (I've been on short term disability for 2 weeks) I work 12 hour shifts. So our schedule is never consistent. We're not consistent with our meals. I just don't know what to do. Its easy to say I can cook healthier meals but when it comes to it.. its hard. We rarely eat fast food which is a plus and we do not keep soda in the house. My husband doesn't drink soda, I drink maybe 2 diet sodas a week. With having fresh food in the house, I'm going to have to go shopping once a week and I can barely get off the couch to load the dishwasher let alone go to the store once a week. We have a store a few blocks away from my house but their fresh produce is disgusting and over priced so I would have to drive at least 15 minutes to get good food. Is there a simple answer to this? Probably not but I just want some of your ideas. Snack ideas? Filling meals yet still good for us? I gained 20 lbs when I first started pred and I've managed to lose 12 lbs of it but I'm terrified to gain it all back and look terrible again shakehead I already have lost so much of my self confidence, I don't want to feel even worse about myself.

Speaking from the cravings perspective....
I have a whole mouthful of sweet teeth so I understand the want of "needing" something sweet. Also being too tired to do anything.

I've heard that diet soda can make you want sweets because if it's fake sugar. Can you wean yourself off of them with lemon water? I've gotten addicted to ice cold water. I feel like I can't get enough. I've even bought an ice shaver machine so I can squirt a little juice or powder drink mix (sugar free of course) on it to flavor it-bam! You've got a low cal snow cone.
Can you start trying to move more? You can do chair exercises or simple stretches.
Clear your cabinets of all high cal foods. If you have to buy up a whole bunch of diet dinners to pop in the microwave.

I have only been on predisone a few times a year for arthritis flares.  I cannot imagine being on it continually.  But I know how hungry I was all the time, day and night.  It was a struggle to be disciplined to not overeat.
I find fresh fruits help so much with the sweet tooth craving.  The natural sugar is like eating something with real sugar.  I try to pretend its a nice slice of cake or a favorite candy bar. (Sometimes hard to do) But eating these fruits only in moderation too.  A lot of natural sugars can turn to fat. 
Try eating more small meals and crunchy foods, raw vegetables and a low fat vegetable dip.  Just a few suggestions.
